Hope turn to Kraft for a recyclable option for their disc rotor packaging.
We were contacted by Hope Technology to come up with a design for a range of packaging products to replace polypropylene wallets that were being used to package their range of disc rotors for MTB's and Road Bikes.
The challenge was to create a packaging solution that would securely pack and protect the rotors whilst enabling the product to be seen whilst inside the packaging. Many of the rotors have colour coded anodised centres and the client wanted to be able for this to be seen to make it easy for customers to select the correct product at the point of sale.
Our constructional designers sampled a range of materials but it was jointly decided that a kraft material would provide a very strong and robust solution as well as being fully recyclable and manufactured from FSC certified materials.
Our decision to incorporate a series holes in the front of the wallet clearly allows the product to be seen internally whilst providing a cool and visually appealing solution. Whilst this was physically challenging to die cut the end result has turned out extremely well.
